Cookshop Classes Are Back


With Blossom Bakes


We are delighted to announce the next strand of classes with Janette Kelly from Blossom Bakes. We have put together a jam-packed schedule to cater for all bakers and sugarcrafters. There is a full day “Straight Edges” Class on March 31st and a “Kids Easter Cupcake” class on March 27th (€30). In addition we are running 6 morning classes from 10am-12pm which will cover a wide variety of techniques as set out below. The set of 6 classes is €100 or you can attend individual classes for €20 each.


The "Straight Edges" class is €120. Everything for this class will be provided including the cake, ganache etc. so you will go home with your finished cake too . In this class we will be concentrating on how to perfect straight edges. You will learn how to make ganache and how to use it to help achieve a sharp finish on your cakes . You will also be shown how to properly torte and fill a sponge. By the end of the day you will know how to do both and perfect a smooth level finish with straight edges.



Week 1 (March 5th)

Board effects, denim wooden and quilting: Learn how to create the perfect backdrop for your cake .Add texture and colour with lots of different effects for all different types of cake and get a demo on using an airbrush too .


Week 2 (March 12th)

Easter Bunny Topper: Create a cute bunny perfect for adorning your cake for Easter but also learn how to adopt to suit a birthday cake or for a cute christening cake too .



Week 3 (April 9th)

Decorating Cookies: Learn how to decorate cookies with some edible painting for any occasion.



Week 4 (April 23rd) 

Making a Rose: Learn how to create a beautiful rose, from learning how to colour the correct icing to adding the correct number of petals to create a beautiful Bloom.



Week 5 (May 14th)

Introduction to Royal Icing a beginners guide to Royal icing: Mastering the perfect consistency for each application and how to use to embellish your cakes .


Week 6 (May 21st) 

How to make a drip cake: Learn how to create the very current drip cake.  Add/change colour on icing with a water-colour effect.
